Construction Details:

This is a formal version of Amy Rose (from the Sonic games) that I put together to wear at Katsucon's Valentine's Day Ball in 2009.

The dress, headband, and jewelry I already had, but I had to buy the red shoes, white gloves, and pink wig.

The only part of the costume that took any time at all was the wig. My boyfriend at the time gave me an old Inu-Yasha ears headband that I butchered for the ears. I ripped them off the headband, painted them with pink fabric paint, and then sewed each ear to small plastic french combs. I then sewed the combs into the mesh of the wig which took FOREVER. I attached the ears this way so that when I was dancing I wouldn't have to worry about them falling off! And it worked very well! I only had to worry about the headband!!

All things considered, this was pretty much a closet cosplay. I am pretty proud of the wig though!

Actually, I have just begun working on an "real" Amy Rose costume! So I'll be able to put my darling wig to good use! (Seriously this wig is my baby, as simple as it looks ...) ^^;
