About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Oh god...where to start. This thing was a monster to make as I was determined to get all the freaky little details on it. Everything I'm wearing I made except for the wig. The top hat and jacket are made of stretch suede while the pants and boot covers are made of rodeo poplin. The shirt is classic shirting and the skirt is eyelet which I then used color spray to get the gradient dye on (as well as the feathers on the hat). All the designs on the jacket, pants, and collar are embroidered using a mix of my mom's embroidery machine, satin stitching on my machine, and even some by hand. The sword/baton is made out of wood which my Dad helped me put together. All the clasps and various pieces are made of a mix of resin, plastic styrene, and sculpe or paper clay. The backpiece (and I'm currently up to the third one) is wood and sculpe.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I love this design like woah and am actually pretty happy how the costume came out. The game itself is kinda meh plotwise but I love the characters and designs and I love my group! Seriously you guys are all so awesome.
Sadly, I lost the "man-skirt" at Dragon*Con 2011 so this costume is temporarily "retired" until I manage to motivate myself to remake that piece. *sighs*
