GAUUUUUUUUCHE. I've been meaning to do Gauche for a while now, and while in Japan, I found the perfect fabric, which was pretty much my one condition for doing this cosplay at all, since in the illustrations in the manga have a very distinct look to them. The boots are horribly cheap ugg rip-offs that were spray-painted (and thus now waterproof), and the the socks are knitted from a suede yarn, which I think is sort of funny. It was a sort of hard yarn to work with, though. Nocturne is a wooden toy musket cut down with an industrial saw, with gems, black and brown vinyl, and black duct tape. The extra handle is actually the sealing plastic from a bucket, as my previous option got thrown out. >_> The hat is my favorite part, though it needs some fixing up now, after being flown back and forth across the US. SO MUCH TRIM, OMG. It turned out I was lucky that the guy who sold me the trim threw in an extra meter for free, since I ended up needing it. >_> Nocturne is a sawed-off wooden musket, and the messenger bag is the same fabric as everything else.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Whoooo, it's snow-worthy! :D Also, I am totally wearing this hat everywhere; my uni's colors are blue and yellow, and our mascot is a yellow jacket. and it snows a lot. YEAH.
