Construction Details:

AGAIN?! Making things harder than I need to?! Kimono is a blue cotton quilting fabric that was too light, so I overlayed it with a sheer Sari fabric...again. The obi is going to be used again for Shiki's pink kimono (but with different bows in the back). The white layer has very faint white patterns as well (paisley to match the blue layer to be precise). And jacket is a thick red vinyl coated with PU with dark red vinyl piping (the dark red matches the dark red trim on my Lio). The jacket is fully lined, with working zippers and pockets. The hardest part was finding the fabric for Shiki. I had been looking for it for a couple months, and then all of a sudden, there was just enough of the most perfect fabric in the clearance isle! The only problem is that it was just so thick, that I actually had to hand sew parts of it because it wouldn't fit under the foot.

Personal Thoughts:

I was planning to do the pink kimono first, but Kucchi wants to do Lio, so I figured we should probably match. The jacket was really hard to do because it was so thick, and because I wanted all the zippers and pockets to be fully functional.

Styling Notes

The wig I used was so bad. It is thin, and nappy, and horrible. I had an awful time styling it.
