About this Costume
Construction Details:
Oh the shine hurts my eyes! LOL Anyway this was the first time I had to make a lot of a pattern myself. For the Meier costume, since I didn't know a dang thing about menswear, we found a double breasted men's tuxedo jacket and modded the crap out of it. Including cutting off the lower half of the jacket (which I know I'm going to cosplay hell for) and sewing on tails.
Personal Thoughts:
Okay, so I made all of my costume and did all the sewing on the Meier costume for my boyfriend (he made the armor). We made the costumes for Otakon 2005, so they are really old and haven't been worn since. Yay for cheap costume satin! (NOT) I think the coolest part of the con was that the director (if I remember correctly) of Madhouse Studios and some of this crew were there that year so we went to go get Autographs. As we were standing in line people were taking photos and going in ahead of us. They told the Madhouse crew and the then the director came out and wanted to see our costumes and talk to us. He then asked us to stick around for after the autograph session to take photos with him and his crew. It was, for lack of a better word, so cool! It made my con! :)
