About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Whipped up in about a day, while I was panicking about finishing Jack for Y-con. The hardest bit was trying to figure out just how I was going to get everything to lay/go on right, as the original design for the top has a sailor collar with a backing, as well as an open-front jacket design. Huzzah for snaps. Pants and light blue are made from scrub materials (it was perfect for the color!), and jacket is a bottomweight. There's a few things I'd like to fix on this, but for the most part, I really like it. Big thanks to Darizard for making the anchor and putting up with my "alskdfja ;A; c-can you make it larger?" seven million times.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Hetalia's sort of turned into "let's cosplay my heritage and fall in love with the characters along the way!" Since I sort of ran out of material on my dad's side, (having an entirely Italian family sort of kills that, though I may try to do Romaheta variation at one point) I moved to my mom's side, which is a glorious mix. I started with Norway as my only memory of my grandfather is him yelling "One thousand Swedes ran through the reeds, all chased by one Norwegian". I seem to have a thing for cosplaying tsundere or slightly tsundere characters. Or just the silent ones. Which is hard for me.
