Construction Details:

I don't know why, but I really wanted to be Denmark! & I mentioned this to Lily, who wanted to be Norway. What? A small Norway to troll? Excellent! So we decided to do it for YCon since it's local and I think when we talked about it I was already pretty full up for Fanime. The coat is made from this ...it's gotta be some kind of wool blend since it was only ~$2 a yard~~ The buttons are covered buttons (moleskin!) and there are three different reds in this. Wait. Five. The shirt, poplin elastic pants (I cheated, sorry!), the cuffs are a wool blend, and it's fully lined in a bright red. Which I guess looks kinda silly, but only if you have the coat open, which looks pretty silly on it's own with RED DRESS SHIRT RED ELASTIC PANTS so let's wear this closed all the time please! I've yet to make the hat or axe... I need to redo the back of the coat - I accounted for the smallness of my back, but did NOT properly account for the wideness of my hips (BOO) so the vent is all crazy - and I was trying to do a proper vent this time, too. Boo. I frankenpatterned a Butterick coat pattern with a Vogue blazer pattern for the vent, which seemed to work pretty well - it was just my disproportionateness that threw it off :( Oh well! Updates for next time :)
