Construction Details:

The dress has hand painted gold and black detail. Hand beading and painting on the head dress. The top, sleeves and over skirt are lined in black fabric to help the layers stand out like they do in the art with intense shadow effects. I added a very light purple to the ruffles to match the underskirt and again to match some details I saw in the art book. On the underskirt I felt the design should be symmetrical so i added in the design that appears in the comic on Sakura's feathers.

Personal Thoughts:

I fell in love with this dress the moment I saw the art. It was my first Sakura cosplay. I had to alter a pattern, and wouldn't you know it they came out with the exact same one I needed after the fact! Doh! Needless to say, this costume is on the remake list!
