Construction Details:

This costume took much work to create, and to fix over time. We decided to use pleather for the armor, which was a challenge since I had never used it to this extreme. I had finished the armor and taken some progress pictures only to have the silver pleather start to fall off the blue, so I had to sit and hand stitch it all down. The under shirt and pants were fairly easy to make and were very light weight and comfortable. The ruffles around my wrists are separate from the shirt so I could easily pull up the maroon cuffs. The orange and brown waist pieces were held up by the black belt and stayed up well because they were so stiff. The blue scarf around my neck was a long piece of brocade tied in a knot, pretty simple. I bought and painted the wooden sword and made the sheath out of black pleather adding some gold paint accents and lilac ribbon to attach it to my belt. All in all I had fun wearing this costume, it was pleasant to wear in the snow, but really warm at Sakura Con.
