About this Costume
Construction Details:
There was several years of research that went into this costume. My twin and I were determined to make out Tutu and Kraehe costumes accurate to ballet costumes. We had planned these as "dream costumes" since early 2004 before we had ever begun cosplaying and said that once we had "the skills" to make these we'd make them.

I referenced many ballet construction websites for ideas and inspiration. There were a few things that were made by my own guessing (the wings and tails and the way to attach them) but other things were made using professional ballet patterns or instructions (the tutu and bodice).

This was by FAR the most work I've done to a costume, over 500 hours. Making the bodice, tutu, beading, crown, wings, etc. The amount of details on everything never shows in pictures, but in person there isn't an inch I didn't take time to add a detail.

I'd still like to go back and add more flashiness and bling, but I think I'll save that for a re-make of the costume.

Personal Thoughts:
I have been a fan of the series since I saw it in early 2004. Ahiru is a duck and my favorite animal is a duck so I wanted to cosplay from the series as both Princess Tutu and Ahiru.
