Babble:
I look terrible in this costume, but I love it anyway. The kimono photographs very well, even if I don't. It was also my first ever combining of more than one wig, with most of the length in the back and sides added in to a much shorter wig.
The most fun part was warping the dimensions of the kimono to crazy levels. Painting the flowers was the most time consuming part, but the gold applique on the jacket was the most nerve-wracking. :D
Every layer of this costume is finished and durable, which is something I'm rather proud of. For the first time, there was no secretly using selvage edges of fabric or pulling threads to avoid finishing inside seams.
Personal Thoughts:
I love Masaomi with a passion I reserve only for characters voiced by Miki Shinichirou and Okiayu Ryoutarou. He is voiced by the former. He's a bamf with a giant sword fighting a war he shouldn't be in, for a family you should hate, in a game you've never heard of. This costume was one of the last I made as a set with my ex-girlfriend, so will always hold bittersweet feelings, but I stepped very much out of my comfort zone on a lot of the construction, and that really helped me grow.
