Construction Details:

Dark Cloud 2 is one of my favorite games ever and I absolutely adore Monica. I knew that one day I'd have to cosplay her and well, here is the result of that. I can't say I'm completely happy with it because a lot of it was rushed but I'm not completely unsatisfied with it either. I'd like to eventually redo the boots, top, and sword though...I'd also like to fix up the wig. It looked great when I first styled it, but it got messy before the photoshoot so I'm really not very happy with it in these photos. The costume itself was pretty easy to make. Everything was pretty basic. The only part I had a little bit of a problem with was the top but after I figured out how to make it, it was easy. I chose to have a red wig instead of pink because though in the game it's pink, in all the DC2 artwork, her hair is red and I liked the way it looked better. My sword was made out of cardboard with a dowel rod supporting the middle. I actually liked the way it turned out, but I think I could do a better job with it so I'm going to eventually redo it. Our Atlamilia stones were hand cast out of polyester resin and the settings were made out of model magic and painted. I ended up making Monica's Bandit Brassard. To do that, I actually bought some large hoop earrings (I couldn't find any bangle bracelets big enough to go around my upper arm) and painted one silver then hot glued them together and attached a small piece of red fabric to one. My best friend cosplayed as Max in his red vest outfit. He made his wrench out of foam. His outfit was made from clothes that we bought and altered/dyed for him. We still have some work to do with the hat. I might add more photos later after I fix up my wig. I plan on definitely making more of Monica's outfits in the future. :3
