About this Costume
Construction Details:
I made this for the "gaggle of gagas" group photo shoot at Otakon. When I found out about other cosplayers who loved Gaga too, I couldn't pass up the chance!! <3 It's rare to find others who like the same stuff as I do and rare that I get to join in a photo shoot. Judy the Boody (http://www.acparadise.com/acs/display.php?a=61501) organized it and I am so happy she did! Thanks, hun! This costume was taken as serious as all my others, so I took my time trying to make it as accurate as possible. The shape of the poncho top was kinda hard to draft, but after lots of experimenting and planning, I got it to work out. I wanted all the stripes and spots to match up when sewn together on the seams. I ended up painting in black to make sure everything looked all one piece. The wig was actually my Nurse Angel Ririka wig from 5 years ago. I washed and restyled it. I had to straighten and take the curl out of it. I'm really happy that the wig turned out just the way I wanted it to! The disco ball earrings were lollipop holders that I made into earrings. The lightning bolt was actually blue lame fabric from my minmay costume that I spirit gummed on my cheek. Microphone made from a tea strainer and other house hold items ^__^ Just Dance was the song that got me to listen to Gaga. When I saw this outfit in the music video, I went gaga over it! te he! So 80's!! Which is very much my style!
Personal Thoughts:
Gaga is my favorite artist!!! She's just such an inspiration. I really appreciate her as an performance artist & artistic abilities. I haven't been so captivated by an american pop star like this in a long time. Gaga is so talented and truthfully she has brought me confidence & youthful nature that I have forgotten about and lost for a while. She reminds me to be the outgoing, wacky person that I can be.
