About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I've been wanting to make this costume for a very long time now and I'm so happy I finally had the time! I'm completely in love with Shunya Yamashita's artwork and Kokona is my favorite design.
The costume was actually pretty easy to construct. I used pink and white knits for the skirt, top, and thigh-highs, and black and white twill for the bolero. All the armor is made from craft foam, which was sealed with glue and water, spray painted, and then hand painted. The hand painting was probably what took me the longest on this costume - I really wanted it to look similar to the artwork, which has A LOT of details.
I'm actually not quite finished with this costume yet, even though I did wear it to Otakon. I have a few things to fix up and I also have to finish my sword, but I will have everything together for Dragon*Con!
