This is love at first sight. Even when the design was a bit different on the first magazine scans, Mikoto always caught my eye. She is such a cute character! Reminds me of another character I Iove! Seeing this contest was just a reason to hurry it up!
Personally I dislike characters with "simple-looking"
...(Read More) costumes, it's like even if you made the costume the best you can, it will still look simple! But I tried my best in getting all the details just right. I considered buying a wig but decided using my old Elincia emerald wig for her. It's so perfect! Next up I made the pattern for the shirt by sheer luck, by looking at a loose tshirt. I love the poofy sleeves she has and I made it a point to have them have that interesting gradient Miko has in hers, like a cream going to pink kind of fade. I dyed the fabric with acrylic mix reeeally carefully so it would not stain the cream. I LOVED how they came out! I'm looking forward to more gradient dye cosplay. the gauntlet parts where easy enough, and look so incredibly cute.
The skirt is a double full circle skirt with ribet ribbon applications. It's flouncy and pretty accurate in my opinion.
I bought the fishnet thigh highs some time ago. I went with sheer because it doesn't look like hers are completely opaque.
Finally and to complete the ensemble, the tan/light gold pumps.
I'm still in shock that I would end up having the perfect shoes in my closet, it's like fated!
All in all, I loved this cosplay. Its simple looking but took me quite a bit of effort to gather all the nice details, applying and
constructing it. I hope you like it as much as I do!
