About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
This costume was a lot of headaches. Most of the issues was with the armor. I decided I wanted to go the craft foam route because it would be lighter then wonderflex. This was all good until I couldn't get the craft foam to stick to the vinyl I used. I tried five different glues until I got my hands on liquid nail, and THAT finally held. There really wasn't much sewing involved with this outfit. All the jewels are resin that I spray painted because the color wasn't coming out right with the dye. All the details are vinyl that I used fabric glue to attach so that there wasn't any needles marks in the vinyl. I hand made the gloves and the smaller jewels are actually christmas ornaments that I painted the same color as the resin. I actually made the shirt 3 seperate pieces to make it easier to wear. So the white long sleeved shirt is seperate from the yellow shirt which is seperate from the white and red piece.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Ferio is my favorite Rayearth character and I have always wanted to cosplay him. When I saw the Prince robes in Rayearth 2 I KNEW I had to do them first.
I reworked the armor and the belt flap for Otakon since I wanted to get pictures with my friends in their MKR outfits. I am slightly happier with it now but I still really dislike it -_-
