About this Costume
Construction Details:
This was the very first Cosplay I made to participate officially at an Anime/Gaming Conventions. Most of the materials I purchased, came from several Ebay Sales.

The Helmet was a regular Dollar store helmet and I bought a bike visor from ebay. The visor was about $60.00., that was the most expensive item I purchased for this cosplay.

The chest part was actually a hockey Junior XL chest protector that cost me $14.99. I used black craft foam to cover the front with armor pattern cuts I made from scratch.

The shoulder spheres were actually 2 gigantic display spheres I got from a store after the Christmas Holiday season of 2007. They were made out of plastic so I used a super hot knife I left in the stove to melt/cut the openings so I could attach it to the hockey shoulder part of the chest.

The arm is actually a rolled up poster board with craft foam cut outs glued with a silicon heat glue gun.

the light attached to the gun is a rave light I bought off ebay for $5.99

I used boots and spray painted them with the correct orange color as the rest of the armor. I use TESTER Lacquer paint I bought from Hobby Lobby. That is quality lacquer paint and it is the same paint they use for cars. The cans are about $4.99 each and they do cover a fair amount of paint-age.

Since I used craft foam, the cosplay was not heavy at all. It was pretty light.

Craft foam is light, flexible, durable, strong with lacquer paints, you can paint on top of it with acrylic, super loyal and awesome. I recommend it for any Armour type of cosplays.

I sold this Cosplay on ebay. The beginning price was $250.00 with a final bidding price of $850.00. The Cosplay buyer works for Nintendo and worked for the Metroid Prime Series. Pretty cool huh? :D
