Construction Details:

Made entirely out of refrigerator-box cardboard, poster board, string and tape. Designed to come apart in pieces for ease of transport (and it was the only way to fit it into my friends car!). An old backpack-strap attached on the inside made it easy to wear (aka like a backpack) although visibility was reduced to two tiny eye-holes. The "book" could open, and the inside cover was as accurate as I could make it based on reference shots - while the skull-pattern & "DEATH NOTE" title were blown up, cut out, and stenciled on, the rest was eyeballed and painted by hand. Every rule was slightly altered by me for family-friendliness and humorous reasons. Pages of the book were taped-in poster board, and sign-able by con attendees. I spent most of my time standing around while people added they're 2-cents to the note, so as first cosplays go it was a success~ ~: Debuted at Sakuracon 2008 :~
