Construction Details:

I loved Klan while watching Macross F, but was too intimidated by her outfits and hairstyle to even try to cosplay her. However, I came across the perfect wig on eBay, and that's what made me decide to cosplay her. I originally planned to make her Zentradi flight suit, but I feel that it's way above my skills level. I'll try it one day! But I adored her micronized form and the outfit she wore while in it, so I decided to make that! The only thing that really worried me was that I had never sewn a crotch before, and I had no idea how to make the boot covers.

I figured the crotch out easily enough, and the boot covers ended up being pretty simple. The base is 2 pairs of tights, cut into thigh-highs. Not too difficult. ^^ They turned out pretty decent in my opinion.

The headband and jumper are made out of jersey knit fabric, which gives it that good form-fitting look. The jacket is made of a suiting fabric (with some stretch) with gold hand-made bias tape edges. The buttons were painted since I couldn't find any gold ones in the perfect style.

Every bit of this costume is hand-drafted too, so I didn't have anything to really go by. But that made it that much more fun to try!

Personal Thoughts:

This costume is retired unless I decide to remake the jumper. I've already remade the jacket for a private shoot, so if I find the desire to rewear this costume, I'll redo the jumper and probably the boots!
