sailor fuku for the WIN. I made Shana(me)and Yoshida Kazumi's uniforms, and Margery Daw's book (which doubles as a purse). The uniforms were fun to make ^_^ I cut up one of my old high school uniform shirts to figure out how they were put together, made a pattern from the pieces and created the shirts, to which I created sailor collars, bows, and sleeve cuffs. It was very comfy ribbed cotton material- the same stuff they use in school uniforms and they were stretchy. The skirts were made from twill and I raided Joann fabrics on 4 different occasions for the buttons on the skirts and shirts. The wig was bought from a user on ebay which we then cut and styled w/the ahoge. Yoshida's wig had the ribbon laced through the wig netting. Other than that, there wasn't anything too hard on the costumes ^_^
- Personal Thoughts:
- My poor Shana wig looks like crap in most of the pictures, seriously. I'd also like to redo the skirts because the pleats were done wrong so that it was like a tube skirt and that's NOT what I wanted. Shana, overall, was really fun to wear, especially since our group was so awesome. Avris cosplayed Wilhelmina Carmel (her first COSPLAY that isn't a crossplay), Cassie was dragged into being Yoshida Kazumi, Kodoz was our Yuji Sakai and second judas was Sabrac with psychopiratess as Margery Daw. I couldn't ask for a better group! I definitely want to wear this again (hopefully out of a con so I can take pictures with my ACTUAL sword). It was made for Anime Weekend Atlanta 2008 ^_^
