About this Costume
Construction Details:
Well, technically its historical/fantasy. Both the dress and mask were separate class projects. I finished them both with less than an hour to go before the costume competition. Oh, and I got an A on both projects. The mask is a thermoplastic base called Altraform, pulled over a clay form I sculpted. It then was supplemented with model magic (horns and detailing) and then painted. The jaw is independent from the head and is secured so it is mobile with my own jaw. The dress is based on Jacobean design (just post-Elizabethan). I built the corset and wheel farthingale underneath, as well as the chemise, all to historical patterns based on Jean Hunnisett's transcriptions.
