Construction Details:

A nice simple costume. Decided on yellow for all the trim, apposed to gold like I would normally use. Paper umbrella I bought and painted it purple with fabric paint. Been growing out my layers so I was able to use my own hair. Short layers aren't able to go up into her side buns. :/ Hair ornaments were made with clear plastic ordainment that are cut in half. Painted black in the inside of it, drilled a hole in the top for the tassel to fit in, glued gold puffy trim on the outside and used gold metallic foam for the swirls.

Personal Thoughts:

This costume has been in the planning since 2007. I wanted to cosplay this with a friend from Florida, but never had the opportunity to go in the past year. Then, I asked Corey to cosplay Saduharu the giant dog as a joke for San Japan last summer. That fell through, so we made it a point to put a small group together for Nekocon. I was surprised how popular the show was and how many people wanted our photos! I am glad Gintama is getting the recognition it should ^__^
