Honestly, my reasons for choosing to attempt this costume were relatively stupid. I first came across Shion's Episode III design sometime a couple of years ago, at which point I thought, "Hey, her face kind of looks like mine." Although her costume was well beyond my skill level at the time, I quickly put Shion on my growing list of 'Costumes that I like but will probably never make.' Three years later, my friend Megan inspired me to finally make my Shion costume for Anime Iowa 2008 to go with her KOS-MOS. I am mostly pleased with the costume itself but I'll need to gather some courage before wearing it again and feel more confident showing off my tummy!
