About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
This was the first costume I made using my dressform! I made the coat by modifying/mutilating a military style coat pattern that I've had for a while now, and pretty much substituting the different colored panels in place of where the darts would have gone. I used this same theory for the booty shorts, except the pattern I started with for those was one for skinny jeans.
Old tennis shoes are old, but they took the paint job rather well. Recycle!
The epaulettes are christmas ornaments (cut in half) with model magic trim, and string for the fringe. The gem was an extra leftover from my Umi costume, which was cast with clear polyester resin.
Fabrics used: Twill, cotton broadcloth (for the lining), and stretch twill. The coat is fully lined.
I made the sword out of balsa wood and wire + model magic for the handle.
