About this Costume
Construction Details:
Toa! Toa! Toa! Booty shorts of great justice!
Personal Thoughts:
What can I say, I love Makoto Uno's character designs! Ah, Toa... you have booty shorts of great justice! Makoto Uno, how I love your character designs! This costume is a hybrid at best. It was bought on a lark to see what the quality of overseas purchased cosplay costumes were like these days. WOO. Let's just say only the skeletal shell remained after I got done "altering" it. The entire shirt needed to be rebuilt, only the red parts remained after deconstructing and ripping out the insanely thin (we're talking lining thin) Lycra. The shorts were huge and fit more like boxers than hotpants. Not good, not good. The little front taggy things Toa has.... yeah, they weren't even there and needed to be added. In all, it would have taken a lot less effort to just draft and construct the darn thing from the beginning. It would have been a lot more fulfilling, too. Construction has always been my favorite part of cosplay. I like Toa a lot and Dragonaut is a fun show, but this costume, I'm kinda hot and cold on. It was fun for a photo shoot, but as for practicality, I'm not sure if I'll take it out again. It would take a huge Dragonaut gathering at best. Now the wig, on the other hand, Ohhhhh I love this one! It's an Ivy in Dark Pink from Cosworx. Didn't even need to cut it, all it took was a clippy in the back and it was good to go! Dark Pink has all kinds of cool colors in it, too!
