Construction Details:

This costume is from a really terrible (and now out-of-print) "visual novel" -- a marketing term for "a game so boring you'd rather go to the dentist than continue playing" -- called Animamundi: Dark Alchemist. Despite the lousy source material, I went a little crazy when I saw the costume design for the Archangel Michael, and so we decided to cosplay from it anyway. Our group included the Archangel Michael, Mephistopheles, and random deceased alchemist Wolfgang Zaberisk. Michael and Mephisto's costumes include fully articulated wings that expand to wingspans of between twelve and fourteen feet. Michael also has a glowing halo floating above his head. We also have an LED-lighted decanter and a four-foot-long sword.
