Construction Details:

I purchased the main fabric from the Fabric Place, before they closed, for less than $5 a yard. It took me forever to find the right kind of fabric for the gold front. I wanted something with a slight sheen, and ended up with a satin that frayed like crazy and was very difficult to work worth. There is very heavy craft interfacing in it for the shape, the black lines is black ribbon ironed on with fusible, and the circles are black broadcloth, fused on and satin stitched. There is a maroon separated zipper in the front, and it is fully lined. I used a basic pant pattern and made the legs very skinny. The jacket is two patterns, one I heavily modified for the bodice (I made a muslin mock-up first), and the other was for the poofy sleeves.

I drafted the boot covers, using heavy interfacing to keep the front up. I purchased long white gloves and modified them. The black on the boots and gloves is more black ribbon fused on, and the gold circles are foamy sports shapes which I spray painted. I planned on doing her epic cloak, but my first attempt at drafting a pattern did not turn out okay. I still have the 40+ foamy sports shapes painted gold, ready to go if I make another attempt.
