About this Costume
- Personal Thoughts:
- I adored the shy and adorable personality and looks of Mikuru-chan since the first day. Since "episode zero"... when she was dressed with her cute "Combat Waitress from the Future" costume XD So I just KNEW I had to cosplay her with this outfit ^^ But after I decided to do it, I realized it was more difficult than I thought... the wig and clip-ons were expensive and the color difficult to find, the dress had a lot of little details that were difficult both to make and wear, and that short skirt showed what I didn't want to show to dozens of people in many occasions u_u
But, despite all that, I simply love this cosplay, not only because I wanted something a little bit, er, sexier than my previous costumes (though sexiness is something you should be born with, and I certainly don't have that XD), but because it turned out very well at the end, because it was my first big group and I had a lot of fun (and also a lot of headaches XD) organizing the group and the skit, and because it was the first time I won a prize in a cosplay contest *^^* But all of this wouldn't be possible without my lovely boyfriend, Clow (Kyon), who was the creator of the skit. I love you, you're awesome :***
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- The wig is an Alicia with two clip-on extensions in the same color, everything bought at Karen's Wigs (and it was quite expensive). I've never been really satisfied with the color, as I always thought Mikuru's hair was more like an orange-light brown mix, but I didn't know how to make a twin-ponytail wig at that time without using clip-ons, and I couldn't find them in that color ^^u I made two low ponytails on the base wig and then put the clip-ons slightly above them, which were unfortunately quite heavy and kept pulling the wig and making my own hairline show T_T Apart from that, I only trimmed the bangs.
