About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I knew I wanted to cosplay as Rozalin as soon as I started playing Disgaea 2. Construction was really expensive, but I got a chance to learn many new things as I worked. I made my first (and second) corset and cast my first resin gems. I used a rolled hem to decorate the edges of my ruffles. There are three layers of skirt--five if you count the hoopskirt and the tulle. I made two pairs of wings--the first pair was made with PVC and did not hold shape too well, so they were thrown out. The second pair is structured from a cardboard and wire base and they are covered with upholstery vinyl. There is a tab in the back that tucks into the back of my corset so they stay in place all day! The little gun is made out of various foams, a stencil sheet, and sculpey.
- Personal Thoughts:
- This is a big big big costume. So big that it consumed about a year's worth of work and a whoooole lot of money. (It's also rumored that it swallows small children, but that's unrelated.) I seriously LOVE this costume, it was really a dream come true for me. I feel like a real princess when I wear Rozalin!
