I received the first disk of Elemental Gelade as a prize in a costume contest. Before I had even watched it, I knew I wanted to cosplay Ren. She's one of the most beautiful and appealing character designs I have ever seen. Much as I wanted to make this costume, i ran into countless problems completing her. I made 3 gelades before I finally came across a method that looked right. My serger broke just as I was starting the costume, and since it's made of satin, that was a big deal. Then my wig was destroyed in the dye bath, so I traded a friend for one she didn't need anymore. The boots still aren't complete, and the hair bow is difficult to tie in. It's hard to get good photos of this costume; most of them turned out poorly. Still, the ones that are good make me very happy.
