The Last Unicorn is one of the first movies I remember watching as a little girl. I watched it so often that I wore out my VHS tape of it. When it came out on DVD a few years ago, it was at the top of my DVD wish list-- I watch it at least once a month. Amalthea is so beautiful and tragic-- the best type of character. I was thrilled when a friend hosted a birthday party asking that her guests dress from a list of her favourite characters and both Amalthea and Schmendrick were on the list. My husband has the Schmendrick costume to match.
