About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I guess I should point out that when I was putting this costume together back in 2008, most of the artwork I had seen had Alfred in fur-topped boots, not the loafers he has in the anime. Same explanation for the chocolate-brown tie over the olive-brown tie, color discrepancies on the star patch, etc. I made it as accurate as I could for the artwork that was available at the time.9/29/08: Re-did America properly for Yaoi-Con. Replaced/altered/augmented pretty much every piece. Many thanks to all the countries who got together on Sunday for a summit of world peace and photography. XDOriginal description from 6/26/08:CLOSET COSPLAY YAY. All but two pieces of this are from other costumes. Wig and shirt are from Tamaki, the inner jacket is from Mayama (pinned up to make it approximately the right length), Mitsuru's pants, Fai's gloves and boots, and a tie I bought for a future cosplay. The belt and brown jacket are the only pieces not cannibalized from other cosplay.
- Personal Thoughts:
- April 2009: YES! The picture of America on the camel (#1) made it into Cosmode! :DOriginal thoughts from 6/26/08:I'm going to replace certain pieces with their correct counterparts from military surplus. But dude, Hetalia is full of crack and WILL NOT get out of my head. These preliminary photos were necessary to keep me sane.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- The name of the wig is "Short Trendy Gold With Blond Wigs (08020059)". Created the ahoge by clipping a piece of hair to a toilet paper tube and attacking it with hairspray and a hairdryer for a couple days.
I bought this from Peri-Wig, the tag says "Luey" as the brand, but I can't find any information about this brand online. It's a good wig, soft and natural-looking, but the wig cap is a bit small.
