About this Costume
Construction Details:

I made the dress from silk shantung since I wanted a dressy fabric to match novaraven’s velvet suit. The huge skirt ate lots of fabric and can spread out in a full circle around me; I bought 6 yards of 55” wide blue silk and all I had left were scraps! Both the bows and the puffy parts of the sleeves are interfaced with netting to help them hold their shape. The bodice is lined and the skirt was finished with French seams.

I also made both petticoats that I wore under the dress. One was white cotton and had the two layers of ruffles which peek out from under the blue dress. And underneath that was a petticoat with netting that I actually made a few years ago but never used because I didn’t get around to the ballgown costume it was intended for. That one originally measured a yard across at the base but I ripped out half of the netting layers because I didn’t need as much poof for Cecelia.

The contacts are ColorMax in Aqua.

Personal Thoughts:
I really hadn’t expected to cosplay YGO again after so long but my friend novaraven was planning a Pegasus costume and asked if I would do something for a group. YGO was one of my early anime fandoms but it had been a couple of years since I followed it so there wasn’t anyone I particularly wanted to cosplay anymore. I eventually settled on Cecelia since it would make a logical pair with her Pegasus. It fits my penchant for rare characters, too; I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone cosplay Pegasus's dead wife before. ^_^;
