Construction Details:

This was one of my oldest costumes to date :O the first version I did of it had a bunch of small inaccuracies, so I did a revamp of the costume and brought it out to wear again during Fanime 2008. Things I changed from version 1: Got new wig, styled it better than the first one, more accurate red tie, resized the shirt so it fit better, and added on the chains and cross pendants that hang off the tie-bow (although you can't really see it the pictures ;;). I know that for her schoolgirl outfit, her hair is styled differently, but I couldn't get the wig to do the poofy pigtails thing so I just styled it the way her hair normally is. Since Misa is a Japanese girl, her hair must be either artificially dyed blonde or a wig (lol). As such her natural eyebrows would probably be dark, since I doubt she bothered to dye her eyebrows and in anime/manga pictures it's just a thin dark line anyway....so I opted to use a brown brow pencil to make my eyebrows a medium brown. I felt that having the brows black would be too harsh a contrast against a blonde wig, it becomes really noticeable in photos and looks weird/unnatural, so I think the brown worked well.

Personal Thoughts:

I actually don't like Misa, I did this costume on a dare of sorts in order to force a friend to cosplay L. >_>a; Ummmm....Yeah. Although my eyes are brown, I'm actually wearing lighter brown contacts for this costume also, although they don't really show up either XD; may consider getting hazel or honey color next time. ************************************************************ This costume has been retired since Feb 2009~ I sold off the wig and most of the costume. ************************************************************ The white lace-edged schoolgirl shirt and black and white striped socks are for sale together for $20.
