Yet another Count D costume because he has so many nice clothes and I’m obsessed with his wardrobe. ^_^;; This is one of his outfits from the chapter with Ten-Chan in volume 8.

There wasn’t a back reference for this outfit and the artwork was inconsistent about the tails so I improvised a bit. I made the tails ankle length and rectangular as they looked in one picture. And I added buttons and tassels to the back to make it less plain. (a couple of similar coats that D wears in the sequel are embellished with tassels in the same way)

The pattern alterations turned out to be relatively easy but the coat still took a while to put together since I completely lined it and hand stitched all the olive trim in place; there’s about 8-9 yards of it on the coat.

The coat fabric was left over from an evening gown I made several years ago and one of my favorite fabrics ever. It’s a brocade with a leafy pattern and metallic threads woven into it; it has a soft golden shimmer to it in person but sadly doesn’t show well in these photos.

The skirt was made with a leaf-patterned Chinese brocade and was pretty basic.

The Q-Chan in the group photo was made by novaraven who cosplayed D's father for our AnimeNext group; the gold fan in some pics was also borrowed from her.
