Construction Details:

I found a gorgeous floral brocade and wanted to try making a properly fitted Chinese dress for a change after a few Count D crossplays. So, I decided to make a dress for D’s sister who appeared for a chapter in volume 7. I still tend to get mistaken for Count D himself whenever I wear this though since they look like twins other than having the hair and mismatched eyes in reverse. ^_^;

I made the fully lined dress from scratch, including making the frog buttons and bias for trim. The dress fabric is a rather unique Chinese brocade that has phoenixes brocaded onto a floral print rather than a solid. I’d never seen one with overlapping patterns like that before and really liked the effect. And the shawl is silk chiffon that I did a hand rolled hem on.
