Construction Details:

The nyosen uniform was one of my favorite designs from the Twelve Kingdoms and I opted to make the slightly fancier festival version.

This costume took a good amount of sewing due to all the layers and pieces. But the trickiest part was the hair.

Having no experience with styling crazy wigs, I decided it would be easier to do Youka's hair loops and ponytail as an extension to be clipped into my real hair. I wefted extensions and braided them with wire to create the hair loops. The wraps were done with metallic embroidery floss that I braided into cording and the whole extension was attached to a hair clip.

Personal Thoughts:

I like this costume but haven't worn it much because it's a pain to pack for cons since it wrinkles so easily. I pulled this out to wear again at AnimeNext with Emi as Enki.
