Construction Details:

Based on a novel by Joan Vinge, in her Snow Queen universe. The cover painting that my costume is based on is by Michael Whelan. The costume has a boned, fully-lined bodice and skirt of super-soft microsuede, a fully lined cloak, and of course the lycra "bodysuit" (it's actually a pair of tights and the sleeves are attached to the bodice). The detailing was done by a friend painting gold puffy-paint and gluing gems on me while I wore the stuff. It looked awesome when she was done. :D
