Oh, where to start? First, I know I got the colors wrong. Consider this a cautionary tale about the perils of online shopping. The wool (ebay) I used for the coat is beautiful and very thick and perfect for historical costumes, it's just very much the wrong shade of green. Likewise, the blue (last-minute find at the fabric store) is too light. So I just missed. All the more reason for more people to make the costume, though. There was a ridiculous amount of handwork on the costume (partially by necessity: I was without my sewing machine for a few weeks, so the shirt and pants were done entirely by hand.) because I love the way handsewn bias tape and buttonholes look; I will probably never use a machine for either ever again. (Darnit.) But it was a lot of fun to make and wear.
