About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Arche is such an awesome character! I butchered a lot of jewelry for the bangles and fake pearls that are sewn in and made my own ridiculous earring from model magic. (Why does she only wear one earring?) The coat is fully lined for the sake of weight and opacity. I drafted the pattern mostly from scratch, glancing at a kimono pattern for the sake of proportions only! I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. Boot covers, pants, and tube top were very simple, not too much to say about those. I would like to point out that I love my broom, did you see the bicycle seat I sprayed to match? Yes, there is a bicycle horn and no, Arche does not actually use one. It's a lot of fun to wear this costume, and it's quite comfortable with the exception of the heavy wig.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Not many people recognize Tales of Phantasia, but I feel like this costume is a staple for me. It stands out just like she does.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- The wig on this costume is massive. I mean, I'm wearing a few pounds of hair on my head. The Punky XL was a perfect style for the wild bangs, but the ponytail was very weak and wimpy. A few packs of extensions fixed it right up! I sewed wefts together and attached them around the wig to hide all of the netting and make a nice, full ponytail. To add a little extra charm, I included the blue ribbon from her sprite in the game, even though it is significant in gameplay it is never illustrated in her art.
