Construction Details:

Mamimi was such a fun costume to make and wear! I modded an existing sweatshirt by adding the zipper and sailor collar; figured it was more cost effective to buy a $4 sweatshirt than to plop down $30 for sweatshirt fabric at Joanns... darn their prices :p! I painted the pattern on the skirt by hand...(Read More) so the plaid would be as accurate to the art as possible. The bag is made out of a canvas that I dyed blue, and I painted the cross on with acrylics. I lined the bag with a soft plush material so I could later use it as my laptop bag! :D

Personal Thoughts:

I wanted to do this costume pretty much since I first started cosplaying, so I was glad to finally find time to make it for Animagic! Even though it's a relatively simple costume compared to some others I've done, this remains as one of my favorites! I'll probably rehash this one again sometime soon, since I've recently cut and dyed my hair to be almost identical to the wig I wore for this costume... xD; I guess that just shows how much I liked it!
