This costume was a lot harder than I expected it to be. I made it for Comic-Con 2007. I re-made parts of it over and over. At first, I was unhappy with the dye job and my fabric choices. I tried to fix it a couple times, but eventually I just trashed it and started over. I bought a thinner fabric and was more careful with my dyeing and cutting. The second time the dye was still bad but I liked the drape of the fabric. So, I just kept dyeing and cutting and dyeing and cutting, over and over again, until Comic-Con came and I had to wear it, lol. There are still a few flounces I'd like to remake, but there's NO WAY I'll ever be able to force myself to make another, lol. It was a little traumatic. xD I am most unhappy with the bodice, actually. I'm still not really sure how the Harry Potter costume designers were able to make such a round shape out of triangles for the bust. I tried really hard but mine still doesn't really look right, and my fabric is all puckery and poorly sewn. I *might* consider re-doing the bodice some day. I only made it a couple times (not like the skirt flounces, which I probably made about five times each). I think I've decided I like this costume. The rushed sewing and uneven flounces bother me, but overall, the dress was just incredibly difficult and I'm happy I ended up with a result as good as I did. :D
