Construction Details:

The jacket was made with a pattern to start, adding length, side pleats, and the collar, and it's fully lined. All the twill tape was painted light gray and added on. Each kite shaped grommet was added individually. The rose buttons were from Walmart, originally gold then spray painted silver. I painted the design on the arm cuff. The skirt I took from my Rin Tohsaka costume, and turned it into box pleats instead of knife pleats.

Personal Thoughts:

When I asked for a manga recommendation from a vendor at PortConMaine 2007, she suggested Vampire Knight. I loved the school uniform design and decided to make it. At the time I was still learning how to sew and the design was tricky with all the details to it.
