About this Costume
Construction Details:
This costume was designed and sewn by me. I studied Julia's black catsuit, the one and only main photo I could find online with her O-ring metal belt. I spent hours getting the zig-zag detailing on the front of the suits body going down the sides, making a pattern for this out of scratch. I sculpted the penguin zipper, belt and what looks like a heart shaped braclet out of Super Sculpy, made molds out of silicon, casted the molds out of white liquid plastic resin and finally, airbrushed the pieces with ALCLAD Chrome laquer. Oh yeah, ALOT of work not to mention money going into this. Luckily, a friend of mine gave me what happened to be just enough 4-way black vinyl stretch material to make my Julia suit which was actually very easy for me to make, it was my 1st complete catsuit I made. Let's see what else. Well, I am very VERY detailed oriented. Went through tons of blond wigs on Ebay looking for the right one to cosplay Julia. Spent 50 bucks on one, didn't like it, spent another 50 bucks on the one you see in my photos here. Not to mention the 4 pairs of Julia boots I purchased from Ebay until I found the right one. Since it was spring going into summer when I made this, boots are not too avaliable this time of year in the stores LOL! I am trying to sell those extra boots on Ebay now :o) Julia uses an M1911 Colt firearm which I also found on Ebay. Not the best, as it looks too fake to me still but it did the job. Got rid of that lame orange tip and so far luckily have gotten away carrying it around Anime Expo and the San Diego Comic Con 2007 with no one telling me to put it away or have it peace bonded, which was nice, Julia NEEDS HER GUN PROP! ;) Oh yes, and finished the look with a simple black velvet chocker which was the easiest task of this entire Julia cosplay making journey!!! This cosplay was debuted at Anime Expo and wore again at the San Diego Comic Con 2007. Enjoy my photos of my Julia cosplay and thanks for looking! :o)
