About this Costume
Construction Details:
Coat was based on JP Ryan military coat pattern, braid applied by hand.

Sword was made by my hubby, Darieum, and is the first prop he ever made. Unfortunately, it was in a guitar box and mistaken as something more valuable than what it was when our storage unit was broken into (though I'm sure those who stole it were surprised by what they found inside. Served 'em right!).

There are a few things I'd do differently now, but since it was done when I was still somewhat green with my building skills, I forgive myself a little for it. I have a feeling he'll come back out in the future, but I need to do a few things over first.
Personal Thoughts:
Before I knew what cosplay was, I dressed up as Alucard. It was for the Halloween costume contest for my work at the time (that time being around 1999, I believe). It was, however, a costume thrown together entirely from stuff in my closet. Somehow it managed to look OK, but the only proof I have is long lost XD

Years later, I was asked to be part of a Castlevania group for CostumeCon. Alucard was my first choice, even though by technicality the rest of my group was not from the same chapter of the franchise as I was. Didn't matter, we were all part of the same universe and we got through fine.
