Construction Details:

The bodysuit is made from metallic spandex (mostly black, with gold piping in the seams) which I absolutely love for my fake-leather needs. The cape is wool lined with drapery satin, and I love it.

The belts are boating pleather (nightmare to sew) and the armor is the same stuff covered with hot glue and painted with spikes made from paperclay.

The sword was made by Lionel. I get a lot of questions about the hat. I started with a costume-quality fedora, and extended the brim with foamies. I then stretched more of the spandex over the top of the hat, tacking it down with glue to parts of the brim. The satin underneath was hand-stitched into place.

Personal Thoughts:

I had been wanting to do this costume since 2002, and I'm so glad it finally happened, especially with Hil as my Leila. I definitely plan on doing more D costumes in the future (hopefully something where I can reuse the cape) because I really want to work on my armor and accessory skills.
