Construction Details:

Manx is the first costume I ever made by myself. ^_^ I'm so proud of how she turned out. I bought a pattern for a business suit for this costume. o.O Boy! The final design was so altered from the pattern! I modified the original pattern to incorporate the slits on the side of the jacket, as well as a slightly different lapel design. I also learned that you should never go by the sizes outlined on the pattern. ^^;; I had to bring in so much from the original design to get it fitted right! Manx made her debut at Fanime 2001. Fanime was such a mess that we didn't get everyone together for the group cosplay, it was basically only me running around as Manx. *cry cry* But her costume was still a wonderful success. ^_^ I was soooooo afraid it wouldn't come out right, being my first costume I made. I sewed everything without any outside help (other than asking people's opinions on how to go about this project). It's a really comfortable costume, and I'm saddened that I can't wear it anymore. Lucky for me, I was able to save Millia again from Fanime. But my Manx costume is just too... BIG! I lost so much weight inbetween Fanime and Anime Expo that at AX, Manx was just realllly baggy and no longer had a nice fit to it. I wish I could bring in the seams or something, but alas...there are too many seams to do something about it. (I so wrote that in 2001, lol)
