About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Again, got help from my mom on this one. My staff was made by my dad. I have mixed feelings about wearing this costume. On the one hand, I really like Yuna and she's fun to cosplay, but the obi (bought at the San Fransisco Japanese Tea Garden and covered to create the design) for some reason makes me really inclined to arching my back and the corners of the bow irritate my skin =/ I touched up the staff in 2012 by covering the damaged foam board head with wonderflex, and I gave the whole thing a new paint job. It's a lot more durable now and I'm very happy with the visual result as well.
- Personal Thoughts:
- This is one costume I've probably touched up more than any other. First the shirt, then the staff, and I still don't feel I've gotten the wig right yet. More alterations and updates to come, I'm sure :)

- Styling Notes
- Wig # 2 started life as a Le Tigre Long, but was chopped to hell courtesy of my good friend Sweet~Pea. She did a great job styling it, but looking back I am not happy with my choice of base wig. As versatile as Le Tigre Long is, it is very hard to part. A lesson learned, to be sure.
- Wig Review
- My other regret is the original color. I feel a lot of Yuna cosplayers go too dark with her hair, but it seems I overcompensated and went too light. I'm hoping to attempt dying it before re-wearing the costume next year.
