Construction Details:

Yoshitaka Amano is one of my favorite artists- his watercolor and ink paintings are beautiful and unique. When I was invited to judge a costume contest specifically for his creations alongside him, I jumped at the chance to recreate my favorite character of his. The red portions of the costume are made of a low-pile stretch velveteen, and all of the abstract floral patterns were beaded on by hand with seed beads, satin-finish sequins, and Swarovski crystal. The boots were cut down and permanently covered with matching fabric and beading. The shoulder armor is made of tooling leather, and was autographed by Mr. Amano himself. The tights, cape, and purple sash around my waist were handpainted. Jewelry was made by me. The sword - which I created later on - is solid pine, with Swarovski-inlaid fiberglass for the hilt.

Personal Thoughts:

Terra is my favorite costume to wear! Besides the cape being an occasional pain, it's actually quite comfortable... and sparkly. :)
