Construction Details:

I fell for this design as soon as I saw an artbook image of it. Kimono, being made of rectangles, are fairly easy to make for costuming purposes, but a lot of time went into the painting. There's a subtle pattern on the obi fabric that doesn't show up as well in pictures, but really added depth in person, I think.

Personal Thoughts:

This was one of those characters that I immediately knew I wanted to cosplay. I'd been yearning to do something very flowy and feminine, and I loved Kaoru's character on top of it. Having such awesome Rurouni Kenshin cosplayers willing to do a group with me sealed the deal. I really loved having a girly costume for once, and had the best group in the world!
